Capital Acquisition - Finding new money with venture capital companies

Unlike a year ago, the flow of capital has started to ease.  Unlike a couple of years ago, it will probably never be as easy to obtain as it was.

Investors that jumped into the panic with little thought got burned quickly.  Others got trampled in the stampede or fell out through association.  For some time now, investors have been gun-shy but that is starting to change.

In recent months, investors have been starting to come out again, but this time they are more savvy.  No longer can you show up with a goofy domain name and get funded.  Investors are showing what got them to where they are in the first place.

There are generally only three ways that businesses expand:

  1. The bootstrap method is where a business grows out of profits.  It is a slow pace, but predictable and less risky.
  2. Personal investment from business owners, friends, and family.  This can be a great place to start but there are pitfalls as well.
  3. Private investment from outside parties.  You give up control and a higher percentage of profit, but your gas tank is full and rapid growth is possible.

If you obtain financing from people that you know, there will be a wide variety of rules, some strict and some lenient depending upon who you are, who they are, and what they know about you.

Outside investors also vary some, but most require certain criteria to be met before you can do business with them.

At dBusiness Group, we understand those criteria and what investors are looking for.  With experts in manufacturing, retail, software, and Internet related industries, we apply our expertise in positioning your company toward going to outside investors.
